Heartwarming Fiction

I promised I would give you a list of heartwarming fiction. Every time I've tried to write this post, I'm reminded how much I hate to write book reviews. So, I'm allowing myself to only write a sentence or two about each book. If you want to know more, use Goodreads, or Google, or ask another reader.

For me, a heartwarming story is not one that's all tied up in a neat little bow. But it's a book that makes me want to hug it when I'm done. If you know, you know.

The Shepherd of the Hills

by Harold Bell Wright

A mysterious stranger enters the Ozark hills to escape the city life and make peace with the past.

Okay for Now

by Gary D. Schmidt

A boy from a dysfunctional home finds a friend at the library and courage in John James Audubon's paintings.

A Place to Hang the Moon

by Kate Albus

Three siblings are evacuated from London during World War II and are on a search to find home, that place where someone thinks you hung the moon.

Dear Mrs. Bird

by AJ Pierce

In the middle of World War II, Emmy Lake accidentally becomes a secret advice columnist. As her own life spirals out of control, she begins to wonder if she has anything to offer her readers.

What books would you add to this list? I'd love to add a few titles to my own TBR.
