Hope in the Dark - Emmanuel
For nine, long months,
Hope grew in the dark.
A single cell,
Dividing and multiplying,
Until the womb that held Him,
Could not contain Him.
The young girl howls.
The young man paces.
A baby cries.
Hope has arrived.
After four centuries of longing for light,
A child gasps his first breaths
In the dark.
Maybe that's where hope always begins.
The Light of the World starts as a flicker,
Casting a tiny, dancing shadow
Into our aching hearts.
We cup our hands around this tender flame,
Touch our burning wick to unlit ones.
Until hope spreads like fire
And the whole wide world is ablaze.
A piece of music for your week.
May you carry light and hope with you this Christmas.
So good dear!! I’m not what amazes me more. That God limited himself enough to be contained in a womb or that he gave us the job of carrying that knowledge in our imperfect life! What an awesome God we serve!
